Corporation ("Rand") (TSE:RND.) a world leader in providing mechanical
design automation solutions, today announced a partnership with Parametric
Technology Corporation ("PTC") to market and support ModelCHECK(TM), a
software application developed by Rand. PTC will support RAND by continuing
to develop enhancements to its Toolkit products and making ModelCHECK
available to the PTC sales force for demonstration purposes.

ModelCHECK allows companies to define their corporate modeling standards
for Pro/ENGINEER solid models and drawings and then automatically check
every model against these standards. Companies today are using Pro/ENGINEER
solid models in many downstream applications such as analysis,
manufacturing and digital mockup, and they are re-using them in future
design efforts. Adherence to corporate modeling standards ensures that
these activities can be performed without costly remodeling time.
After checking a Pro/ENGINEER model or drawing, ModelCHECK grades the
model, creates an HTML report for the user to view in a WEB browser and
allows the user to automatically fix the model from the browser. Detailed
information is included for each check to instruct the user on why the
standard is important. ModelCHECK can also link to in-house developed
standards documents on a company's Intranet and can also be integrated with
Pro/INTRALINK to control the submission and release of Pro/ENGINEER models.
ModelCHECK is currently available in five languages and runs on all major
UNIX platforms as well as Intel and Alpha NT. It is offered with both a
locked and floating license manager. It currently runs with both versions
18 and 19 of Pro/ENGINEER and will be released concurrently with version
20.
