Typically, the LOM-2030 machine from Helisys uses a 50 Watt CO2 laser,
and it is expected to last for 2-3 years. In many cases the lasers last
even longer. CO2 lasers can be re-charged by the manufacturer. The
cost of re-charging is usually under $5,000.
