Yes, data can be manipulated, but you will have to write your own
software routines to do it. First of all, are the STL files ascii or binary?
If its ascii, then your routine will read in the data in the form of triangle
vertices & normals, store it in some
suitable data structure, manipulate it & then write an stl file yourself with
the changed vertex coordinates. If you are trying to manipulate a binary stl
file, the procedure remains the same excpet that you will have to write a byte
reading routine( i remember someone had put out the code for doing this on the
list a couple of weeks back).
