Capture 3D (Contact: Mr. Rick White) distributes the ATOS scanner from GOM
in Braunschweig, Germany. I think this sensor is one of the best available.
It creates clean, accurate data over large objects. GOM seems to have
resolved the nagging problem of zipping multiple range images together- to
be able to create accurate data over parts as large as a full size car model.
They are "tied into the Imageware folks" in exactly the same fashion as
Digibotics, Steinbichler, Cyberware, Faro etc are. We are working together
with all the 3D measurement companies to bring complete solutions to
significant design and manfacturing problems. In some cases, it is the
Digibot, in others the Faro and in still others, it is the ATOS.
After more than 7 years in this business, I think we have seen many types of
problems and can suggest which sensor has been succesful for which task and
which type of parts. The key is the application. I wouldn't make a
suggestion unless I knew more about your application.
