One of the best parts of being in RP is meeting people who are willing to
push the technology past what the average person accepts as a stopping
point. I
considered the most interesting presentation at the NASUG meeting to be
done by Bill Morgan of Tupperware on Thin Shell Nickel Tooling.
He had found a method to get electroformed, backfilled, tooling in two days
for about $3k. He said yesterday that he is usually shooting parts on the
third day.
Bill has pioneered Direct Aim past it's current limitations and this
process should help many folks get quick tools in record time. His project
was runner up in the Excellence Award competition. He can be reached at
