Helisys Names New President and Chief Operating Officer

Torrance, Calif. - March 10, 1998 - Helisys, Inc.(Nasdaq:HELI) today
announced that Gary S. Moskovitz has been appointed to the newly created
position of president and chief operating officer.
Mr. Moskovitz, 50, will report directly to Michael Feygin, who will
continue as chariman and chief operating officer. The Company's senior
management team will now report to Mr. Moskivitz
With more than 25 years of general management and product marketing
experience, Mr. Moskovitz has successfully managed numerous operating
units in both public and private companies utilizing a variety of
technology bases and distribution channels.
A former executive vice presient and chief operting officer for the
Quintar Company, an industry leader in the printer and publishing
technology industry, Mr. Moskovitz was also president and chief
executive officer of Personafile, Inc. president and chief executive
officer of Genesis Electronics; executive vice president and chief
operating officer of Westec Security; president of the COM and Business
Data Products Division of Bell and Howell Company; and vice president
and general manager of Xerox's Artificial Intelligence and Systems
Division.
Mr. Moskovitz also held a variety of senior marketing and product
management positions with Mattel and RCA.
"Helisys is fortunate to add such a capable manager with such a rich
background to its senior management," said Michael Feygin, chairman and
chief executive officer. "Gary and I will work closely together,
however, his role will be to concentrate on managing the daily
operations of Helisys while I will now focus on broader issues facing
the company including developing strategy, identifying key sales
opportunities, generating new business, managing investor relations,
raising capital, and participating in industry activities."
Mr, Moskovitz recieved a bachelor of science degree in electrical
engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a masters of business
administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Married with
three children, Mr. Moskovitz resides in Rossmor, Calif.
Helisys develops and builds automated systems for creating physical
models, industrial patterns, and product prototypes directly from
three-dimensional computer generated designs. Helisys' manufacturing
customers include makers of automobiles, toys, appliances, sporting
goods, electronic hardware, medical devices, aerospace components,
shoes, springs, and other products. Helisys' systems also are used in
university research enviroments and supercomputer centers.
