(PARAMETRIC)(PMTC) Parametric Technology Corporation to Resell Moldflow's Part
Adviser; Decision Reflects Increased Role of Plastics in Automotive, Major
                                  Industries
                           (Business Wire; 02/05/98)

    WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 1998--Parametric Technology Corp.
(NASDAQ:PMTC), developer of the Pro/ENGINEER(R) family of software tools used
to automate mechanical product development, announced today that it will
resell
Moldflow's Part Adviser product through the company's sales offices
worldwide.
Introduced in June, Part Adviser is the industry's first solids-based
simulation software for determining the manufacturability of plastic part
designs.

Following a competitive review, PTC selected Moldflow as a partner in this
area because the company is a world leader in plastics simulation and because
Part Adviser is well-suited for design phase operation. Integrated within
Pro/ENGINEER, Part Adviser addresses the key manufacturing concerns of
designers and offers practical advice on corrective actions for identified
problems. The partnership signifies the increased role of plastics in
automotive, aerospace, and other major industries.

"There is a significant need for plastics simulation in mainstream
design,"
commented C. Richard Harrison, president and chief operating officer at
Parametric Technology. "We recognise Moldflow's long-standing position as a
provider of proven plastics simulation technology and its ability to help meet
this need."

"This agreement gives us broad, worldwide exposure for Part Adviser and
underscores the importance of our approach in moving simulation to the design
phase," says Marc Dulude, president and CEO of Moldflow. "Automotive and
other
industries are increasingly selecting plastic as their material of choice.
Together, Moldflow and PTC will ensure that these manufacturers optimize the
development process for injection molded plastic parts."

Both companies believe that the partnership is key to the successful
acceptance of plastics simulation within mainstream design. David Weisberg,
publisher of Engineering Automation Report agrees, "This partnership is a
particularly significant development and testimony for Moldflow and Part
Adviser. When customers start buying software from multiple vendors, they
become responsible for making sure the solutions work well together. By
selling Part Adviser, PTC is clearly telling customers 'not only do we endorse
Moldflow's technology and approach, we will make sure the integration is
tight.' Given PTC's great market share, this should provide a tremendous boost
to Part Adviser's adoption within mainstream design."
