Z CORP. RECEIVES 1997 CGW INNOVATION AWARD

        Somerville, MA - January 26, 1998 - Z Corporation has received the 1997
Innovation Award from Computer Graphics World Magazine (see January 1998
edition). Z Corp.'s revolutionary new office-compatible Z402TM 3D printer
was one of 16 new products honored for innovation in the capabilities they
bring to the market, "products that break new ground in performing tasks
that would otherwise be prohibitively time-consuming, energy-sapping, or
costly--if not downright impossible--and that consequently confer a distinct
competitive advantage to users."

The critical element of product differentiation of the Z402 system is its
speed: it builds parts about 10 times faster than any other rapid
prototyping system on the market. Because of its relatively modest price of
$59,000 and reliance on inexpensive, nontoxic materials, the Z402 system is
uniquely suited to sit in-house alongside the half-million 3D CAD systems
currently installed worldwide. Furthermore, the system can build complex
geometries because it does not require support structures since the loose
powder acts as a support structure during the entire build.

Z Corporation was founded in December 1994 to commercialize a patented
technology that radically streamlines the process of creating
three-dimensional appearance models from computer-aided design ("CAD")
files. The core technology for the Z402 system was developed at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, patented by MIT, and exclusively
licensed to Z Corp. for applications involving the fabrication of appearance
models. The Company sold its first beta unit in December 1996 and is now
selling commercial units.

Z Corporation believes that the Z402 system's unmatched speed will
revolutionize the design cycle by allowing the designer the opportunity to
make multiple iterations within hours early in the design process. This
tool will improve part visualization and communications while enhancing
creativity and reducing the number of design flaws. The ultimate benefit
will be to shorten the design cycle time and allow manufacturing firms to
reduce their time to market with new products. Z Corporation can be found
on the Internet at www.zcorp.com.
