Jeff,

SLS Fine Nylon is a good material for living hinge applications. It has a tensile elongation at break of 32% making it pretty flexible. We have found, however, that hinges needing to flex 180 deg. can be problematic. This requires some extra material removal along the hinge to relieve any inherent stress. Also, one should probably design 30 thou thickness along the hinge and remove the additional material in post processing. This would allow for better strength along the hinge.

Hope this helps.

Anyone know of any RP material (preferably for the SLS) that would
allow you to create living hinges?
