Dear Michael,

     An StL file is a data file in a specified format. For a file to self
destruct, it would presumably need to either launch a program that would
close it and delete it (and if you're really serious, wipe it) or else
contain some time data (which could be hidden in the 80-byte header) that
was used by another program on the system as a destroy-signal. But I can't
think of any way that the distributor of the StL file could cause such
action to take place, unless perhaps you distributed it with an attached
virus-like program which was otherwise (if you're nice) benign.
