RE: sls scan speed

The equation that Michael presented is correct for the SLS 2000. For the
SLS2500, the resolution and the Step Period are different. The default
scan speeds are material dependent. Most of the materials are scanned at
50 inches/second in the SLS2000 and 66 inches/second in the SLS2500.

SLS2500 machines that have the CI upgrade will default to faster scan
speeds. The new default for the nylon materials will be 200 inches/second.

To eliminate confusion about the scan speeds, the next version of
application software (7.0) will display all of the scan and jump speeds
in inches/second (or mm/s). Until that time, one can convert the Scan
Size parameter using the following equations.

        SLS 2000: scan speed (in/s) = step size * 0.678

        SLS 2500: scan speed (in/s) = step size * 4.727
