PRESS RELEASE: ( Lafayette, CA......82 degrees, 12:45 PM & spell check loaded)

Scanlab 3D of Lafayette, CA (USA) has acquired a CGi RE-1000
Internal/External Laser Scanning System. This new system will add to
Scanlab's laser scanning equipment by allowing users to not only scan the
external surfaces of a part, but capture the internal geometry as well.
This system is designed for reverse engineering, mold verification and STL.
It is accurate to within +/- .001 inch and can process a vast array of
materials including aluminum, plastics, steel, cast iron, brass, stainless
steel, copper and wood. The system offers users IGES, STL, ISO G-Code,
ASCII, DXF and Stratsys. Post Processing includes generation of point cloud
data and subsequent surfacing for importation into most 3-D CAD software
packages for potential design changes, STL file output or NC toolpath
generation.

This system adds to the existing laser scanning services offered by Scanlab
3-D Cyberware scanners and touch probes.
