Hello John,
We are running a 1600 so it should work about the same.
First try hitting the reset button right next to the stop button (which
you probably already have). Then you need to run the "ssbutton" script.
This should take a few minutes, but should clear the stop codes.
If that doesn't work, you need to make sure the 25 pin cable is tightly
attached to the FDM and the computer so that it is "talking" to the
machine.
On a Silicon Graphics; to check if your FDM and computer are
communicating you can run the "ssrun" script as superuser. Basically,
if there is no communication it will give you an error and exit the
command. If there is communication, however, there will be a command
prompt at which you should type "q" to quit out of the command.
On a PC, if you are using the "print ssbutton.pc" command structure the
only way I have seen to tell if there is communication is that it takes
several minutes to complete the process. If you type "print" and enter
immediately after entering the "print ssbutton.pc", it should show up in
the print queue. If not, you may have a bad connection.
Hope some of this helps!
