I have seen some examples of stress analysis using polarised light on plastics
at QMI (Queensland Manufacturing Institute) in Australia. They have also made a
serious commitment to SLA.

I suggest that you eMail Mike Naylon (mjn@qmi.asn.au) and see whether he might
be able to assist you - if anyone knows about this, Mike is the man to ask.
