Alpha NT machines-Any experience?

I'm considering my next hardware upgrade. I'm looking very closely at
the alpha risc units because of their amazing speed. As well there's a
company building 500mhz alpha boxes with great features for under $6000.

Does anyone have experience with the alpha chips and windows NT? My
major concern is that its too bleeding edge. The softare that I use is
optimized for the alpha and the graphics cards have open gl support. As
well they only build the units with either the matrox millenium graphics
cards or the symmetric glyder tx. Anyone have experience with these? The
price and speed look to good to be true and I'm irresisitably tempted!!!

Any experience you can share would be helpful.

by the way check out the alpha system at
