The US Department of Defense maintains the Crew System Ergonomics
Information Analysis Center (Cseriac) which develops ergonomic models of
both males and females, sorted by percentiles. Cseriac has a COMBIMAN and
CREW CHIEF WEB page. This might be a good place to look, as it will give
him a lot of information. The WEB pages can be found at:

The main differences as far as body sizes is CREW CHIEF has only 10 possible
body sizes, 1st, 5th, 50th, 95th, and 99th percentile male and female.
 COMBIMAN allows the user an infinite number of body size possibilities
using several different methods. The easiest method is selecting one length
related variable (arm length is one length related variable) and selecting
the weight. COMBIMAN also allows the user to define 12 anthropometric
variables to model the specific anthropometric characteristics of a
particular person.

CREW CHIEF of course can be used in a variety of postures (standing,
bending, sitting, kneeling on one knee, kneeling on two knees, prone, and
supine). COMBIMAN can only be used in the seated posture. CREW CHIEF
models a maintenance technician (body size, strength, reach, visibility),
whereas COMBIMAN is used to model a seated operator (originally a pilot,
modeling body size, strength,
reach, and visibility).
