BETA RELEASED:
On December 12th, 1996 Raindrop Geomagic, Inc. released its geomagic Wrap
beta software. Beta testers will receive a full working version. If you or
your company is interested in becoming a beta test site, please contact us.
A free evaluation copy with limited output is freely available from our web
site.
DESCRIPTION OF WRAP:
WRAP is a software product for automatic surface reconstruction and grid
generation from point cloud data. The software can "wrap" a surface around
an arbitrary point cloud. Wrap will run under Windows NT, Windows 95, and on
a variety of UNIX workstations. The beta is currently available for SGI
(UNIX) platforms.
FEATURES:
Wrap accurately represent shapes, including shapes with holes. Solids can be
automatically created from a point cloud, data obtained from scanners or
digitizers. Wrap concurrently constructs surface mesh and volume mesh. These
surfaces can be edited and outputted to various data formats. Wrap produces
water-tight STL files for rapid prototyping machines.
