I'm interested in knowing:
- what kind of controllers are used in RP machines?
(e.g., PC running dos and a delta tau motion board, or
VME-bus processors running unix and real-time operating system, or ...)
I believe that both the SLA and SLS machines use PCs running Unix, but
I don't know what is doing the motion/laser control
- what hardware/architecture features drive the control requirements?
- multiprocessing, bandwidth or other technical feature
- natural derivative of platform used for development
- cost
- wide availability of subsystems (boards, software, ...)
