DRAMATIC INCREASE IN PRODUCTIVITY
OF 3D SYSTEMS' SLA-250(tm) WITH
DUPONT "SOMOS" 6110 STEREOLITHOGRAPHY EPOXY RESIN

Wilmington, DE -- DuPont announced today the immediate, unrestricted
availability of their new high-speed, epoxy-based "Somos" 6110 for 3D
Systems' SLA-250(tm). This follows the most extensive beta-site testing
and controlled sales in the history of its Somos Solid Imaging Materials
Group.

"Somos" 6110 is described as the first of the 2nd-generation high-speed,
epoxy-based resins for stereolithography by Daniel J. Mickish, Manager
of the DuPont Somos Group.

DuPont "Somos" 6110 has all of the desirable accuracy and mechanical
properties associated with epoxy resins and is compatible with secondary
processes such as silicone rubber molding and 3D System's QuickCast(tm)
for investment casting applications. In addition it possesses 2x the
photospeed of 1st generation epoxies, having "working curve" parameters
Ec=8.0 mJ/cm^2 and Dp=5.6 mil (0.142 mm). This means that using "Somos"
6110 is equivalent to doubling the laser power, and therefore can
approach halving the total fabrication time. Because of the significant
increase in productivity, the cost of switching to DuPont's new epoxy is
easily recovered by fully utilized systems in less than one month.

DuPont's 2nd generation epoxy addresses another significant problem: it
shows exceptional tolerance to high humidity environments (up to 85%
relative humidity). Methods for achieving higher
heat-deflection-temperatures in "Somos" 6110 will be described in a
DuPont paper to be given at the Solid Freeform Fabrication Symposium in
Austin, TX, August 12-14.

To encourage customers to switch to "Somos" 6110, DuPont is offering its
North American customers a limited-time 35%-initial-fill-discount.
Specifically, DuPont is offering more than a vat-full (40 kg) of "Somos"
6110 to new users for $122/kg or $4,880, plus shipping. To take
advantage of this offer the purchaser must show on the purchase order
the 3D Systems' SLA-250(tm) model number, serial number, and location.
The regular price of DuPont "Somos" 6110 is $187.50/kg and is sold in 4
kg and 20 kg units. Volume discounts are available.

DuPont provides the widest selection of stereolithography resins,
ranging from the only available flexible resins "Somos" 2110 (HeCd) and
2100 (Ar+), to the general purpose highly transparent acrylate resins
"Somos" 3110 (HeCd) and 3100 (Ar+), to the 2nd generation epoxies
"Somos" 6110 (HeCd) and 6100 (Ar+) (the last still in controlled sales).

DuPont "Somos" materials are marketed world-wide through the following
distributors: Eos (Germany) and Symore (Belgium) for the European
market; Behar & Cia. S.A. (Uruguay, Brazil, and Argentina) for the Latin
American market; Aaroflex (USA) for the North American market; and
DuPont K.K. (Japan) for the Asian market; all of whom have their own
marketing programs.

DuPont is a research and technology-based global chemical and energy
company offering high-performance products based on chemical, polymers,
fibers and petroleum. Committed to better things for better living,
DuPont serves worldwide markets in the aerospace, agriculture, apparel,
automotive, construction, electronics, packaging, refining and
transportation industries. Among DuPont's best known brands are
Teflon(R) fluoropolymer resins; Silverstone(R) non-stick finishes;
Lycra(R) brand spandex fiber; Stainmaster(R) flooring systems; Kevlar(R)
brand fiber; Tyvek(R) spunbonded olefin; Corian(R) solid surface
material; and Conoco(R) fuels and lubricants.
