European Patent Office Makes Ruling in DTM/EOS Patent Dispute

Austin, Texas: DTM Corporation announced today that the Opposition Division of
the European Patent Office (EPO) ruled that the opposition to European Patent
0287657 by EOS GmbH, a subsidiary of Zeiss GmbH, was without merit. The Court
also ruled that the DTM patent and the invention to which it relates meets all
of the requirements of the EPO. The EPO ruling relates to a claim by EOS that
the DTM patent was not valid. EOS now has four months to submit additional
objections. DTM views this ruling important in defending against unauthorized
use of its intellectual property worldwide.

DTM Corporation develops, manufactures and markets the Sinterstation family of
rapid prototyping systems for a wide variety of application areas including
functional prototypes, pattern masters for plastic and metal tooling, direct
metal injection molds and sand casting. DTM has an exclusive worldwide license
for the Selective Laser Sintering technology. The company's products are sold,
serviced and supported directly through DTM in North America and in Europe
through DTM GmbH (Germany). DTM products are available through an extensive
network of international distributors throughout the Pacific Rim and South
America.
