A very interesting comment.

My understanding was that other powders would be unsupported by DTM, meaning
that you would have to work out your own build parameters. I was also lead
to believe that using other powders would not specifically invalidate any
warranties. I asked DTM specifically if we could develop our own powders in
the lab and was told that there was no problem but they would appreciate
being informed as to what was being used. It may be a plan for us to look
into new powders in the future, we have not done so as yet. I guess there
would be an 'at your own risk' clause - meaning that if I damaged the
machine as a direct consequence of using an 'unsupported' powder, I would
have to pay. But I would not expect a lawsuit.

I think the original suit must be related specifically to the nylon powder,
its formulation and manufacture or its use. I would also like further
information - in particular regarding the 'exhorbitant prices' comment. As a
matter of fact I would like comment from everyone regarding the price of
materials for all RP processes- why are they so expensive (or do you find
them to be cheap)?

A Thermos flask keeps hot things hot and cold things cold. My question is -
how does it know?
