Subject: Support Structure Generation Software
I have uploaded my support generation software to the anonymous FTP site at
Clemson, fantasia.eng.clemson.edu, as Elaine Persall suggested. I put it in
/SLA_incomming/SUPDES3.ZIP, which will move to /SLA/SUPDES3.ZIP
sooner or later. Thanks to everyone who responded. If there's enough
interest
(I'll need lots) more work may be done to improve this software.

Here's the readme file I included in the ZIP:

Support Designer III
                                                           July 29, 1995
================

Due to an _overwhelming_ demand (is eight requests overwhelming?) I
have decided to make my Support Designer software available for free
testing by the rapid prototyping community. Keep in mind that this
software is no where near complete, bug-free, or even useful in its
current state. I am not offering any customer support, and I'm certainly
not going to be liable for any damages caused by your use of this
software. (I couldn't image how you might suffer real damages from it,
since it's pretty much harmless, but don't go blaming me if you tell
your clients you can generate supports in under a minute with my
software, then get sued because you couldn't do it.)

In short, I'm not making any claims about this software at all.

Don't steal it or try to reverse-engineer it, or anything like that, though.
I don't own this, the Design & Manufacturing Institute, at Stevens
Institute of Technology owns it, and they may want to exercise some
commercial rights with it. I'm making it available without their
permission,
mostly because I'm the author, nothing else will happen to this software
without my involvement, and I'm too busy doing other things for DMI to
work on it, so it's unlikely that anyone will be upset with me for making it
available like this.

Ok, so what are you getting? This readme file, the executable, a minimal
help file, and a couple of sample STL files which have always worked for
me, just in case none of yours load. Have fun!

Doug.
