Dear Jim,
Gary Lewis at Los Alamos has developed a process he calls Directed
Light Fabrication (or something close to that). There are, as far as I
know, two projects aimed at commericalizing this idea. It is also similar
to a method developed at the Fraunhofer Institute and reported at last
year's Austin conference. I think most of this work is still too early to
address accuracy and surface finish in a meaningful way just yet. These
are interesting ideas, and could lead to important results in some years
time.
Best Regards,
