Subject: Colourful RP models
This raises an interesting point.

When I was out looking for research funding in the UK in connection with 
RP, one person I talked to was a gentleman called Adrian Dent (who is not 
related to Arthur in any way). Mr Dent was a representative of, what was 
then, the Science and Engineering research Counil. What he said was 'if you 
can come up with a project that will result in a consumer product that uses 
RP technology then I will fund it' - or something similar (we had gone 
through 3 pints of beer each by this time).

My thought is that if you can come up with a 3D fax machine - not a new 
idea - that truly operates as a fax machine (i.e. high speed, not too much 
attention to detail, etc.) then that would be a commercial product. Now, 
even better, if this scanned and produced models in colour!????

Go on Joe, you see if you can get some of your Japanese corporations to 
support you in this.
