Hello, RP-welders
According to Mr Marshall Burns' book Automated Fabrication the Univ. of
Nottingham's 3-D Welding method is capable to produse parts in aluminium and
that the group has some sort of cooling equipment under testing. However,
paper by doctors Dickens, Pridham, Cobb and Gibson found at WWW-site
//www.cranfield.ac.uk/aero/rapid/rapid_prot.html does not mention either of
these two features. So, what is the present state of the Nottingham 3-D
Welding process?

At the same site one can obtain a paper by Mr Ribeiro, Mr Norrish and Mr
McMasters presenting 3D welding experiments conducted in the Univ. of
Cranfield. Authors say that the purpose of these experiments was "To prove
the viability of 'RP using Fusion Welding'.." Has this project led to some
research process in order to develop a new RP equipment?

Any other information of 3D welding processes is welcome.

I'm gathering this information for my thesis. Thank's for Your help.
