I personally would be interested in more information. I would also like to
put you in touch with an associate in Singapore (contact me if you wish
more information, I would hate to advertise). Accel. Tech. is opening an
office in Singapore and is finding it very difficult to operate a service
bureau. Many of the RP owners are large companies who are doing it for
fun. Therefore, they do not try to compete and they offer SLA parts at
prices below cost. It is the idea of Accel. Tech. to offer SLS, SLA, and
cast urethanes. It would be "low cost" for the radio manufacturer to
evaluate using many of the service bureaus in the pacific rim. SLA has
become quite abundant, but I am not sure about the other technologies. DTM
has an SLS service bureau in Kyoto, Japan.

I think that is a good idea. It is hard for me to write a document
discussing RP and have to continually type that long word (rapid
prototyping). Plus, "rapid prototyping" can be confusing because many
times we use RP to facilitate limited run manufacturing, which is not RP.
But, to change the name from "rapid prototyping" would be difficult. Take
publications, "Rapid Prototyping Report," SME (Society for Manuf.
Engineers) has the RPA (Rapid Prototyping Assoc.), and our motto "The World
Leader in Rapid Prototyping Services." You would be bucking the system if
you chose "holoforming." Maybe if that name were chosen in the beginning,
it might have been good, but we're committed now. I mean, look at the
address rp-ml. I think RP is the right way to go.
