     We use ProEngineer and it has proven to be a robust STL file generator 
     over the years.  It is expensive though (about $20K/seat) and can 
     involve lots of retraining for users converting from 2D CAD to fully 
     constrained parametric 3D solids.  I have heard rumors that PTC is 
     releasing a "ProLite" (not the real name) to compete with AutoCAD 
     under the MS Windows environment.  Anybody know if this lower cost 
     ProEngineer software will generate STL files?
     
     BTW.. Brock, register my vote for "Holoforming", although "RP" is just 
     fine in the interim.
