If a news group was created, it would open the forum up to people not familiar with this 
mailing list.  I'm sure there are alot of people on the net who  would like to learn more 
about r.p. but are not on this list.  It's obvious to me that people on this list who are 
involved with research, or have already purchased a rapid prototyping device, would 
want to keep this a closed forum.  Why not have both?
