Thank you for your initiative !
Otherwise - I think an email-list can reach far more people an keep 
discussion focussed.
Personally, I prefer to listen and to "switch in" when an interesting 
discussion comes up. I would not watch a newslist more often than any 6 
weeks - when I get the sysop at the "UNI Bremen" computational center 
make the new newslist available !

Though I do not want to disappoint you - I cannot feel the necessity of a 
RP newslist yet.
