How do the brazed joints affect the structual integrity of the part(s)? I would image that complex parts would be difficult and time consuming to develop with this process.

The parts I was shown included an engine block, which looked fairly complex. The brazings were tested and claimed to be stronger than the base material. In some parts, I could not see a brazing line between two layers. Other parts have been put in an engine and run at 3500 rpm for 250 hours and, apparently, still counting.
