Subject: adaptive slicing
Adaptive slicing software that works on STL files was developed here at
Clemson in 1992.
The initial work led by Dr. Amit Bagchi has had several developmental
stages starting with Franck Vouzelaud and with Kamesh Tata. At present
the concept is validated on SLA-250 and a CNC milling machine witj
interface to both. Build time savings are more than 40% for certain parts.
Users have complete control over the software and it has more capabilities
than current RP machines. We plan for the future as usual.
We are expanding it to other dimensions. Wish I could tell more but I can't...
